Eddie Walsh - Air Pacific Dispute Interview
Earlier this year, Qantas removed its four directors from the board of Air Pacific. At the time, Australian media outlets reported that the move was in reaction to efforts by the Fijian government to take over control of the airline. In our interview last week, I broached the topic with Ambassador Winston Thompson of the Republic of Fiji. His position: The issue is a commercial matter between the two largest shareholders (Fijian Government: 51%; Qantas: 46%) rather than a political one with Australia.
